In conjunction with the new theme of Pahang tourism, This is Pahang<\/em>, that was officiated by the Chief Minister of Pahang on 18th March 2021, a symposium was held online at UCYP. Pahang International Tourism Symposium was officiated by YB. Dato’ Sri Haji Mohd. Sharkar bin Haji Shamsudin, the Chairman of the Pahang state Tourism, Culture, Environment, Plantation and Commodity. The symposium was broadcasted live on ZOOM application and UCYP Facebook.<\/p>\n

The Pahang International Tourism Symposium<\/em> is a collaboration between the Pahang State Government via the Chairman of Tourism, Culture, Environment, Plantation and Commodity, UCYP and Pahang Tourism.<\/p>\n

A total of 11 local and international panelists shared their expertise on the different issues related to tourism like culture and arts, promotion, branding, agro-tourism, hotel, health, and edu-tourism. The countries involved are Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines, Singapore as well as Indonesia.<\/p>\n

Among the objectives of this symposium are to promote Pahang, that is rich with its tropical destinations and culturally unique, to international vistors. In addition to that, the symposium is meant to drive the global tourism industry towards cultural and heritage preservations.<\/p>\n

Not only that, this symposium is expected to gather ideas, strategies and identify alternatives to empower tourism industry against this pandemic era.<\/p>\n

According to YB. Dato’ Sri Haji Mohd. Sharkar bin Haji Shamsudin, COVID-19 is leaving massive impacts to national tourism industry. Specifically, the Pahang State lost 46% tourists in 2020 as compared to 2019.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Pre-COVID figure shown that Pahang was among Malaysia\u2019s Top to receive tourists with 13.99 million. I personally feel bless with Pahang as its georgraphical factor\u00a0 fulfils the tourists\u2019 preference . It was no surprise because Pahang has that World-Class wonder\u201d. He added, the attractions of Pahang made it treasured by persistent tourists according to a survey by Malaysia Tourism recently.<\/p>\n

Other than that, Profesor Emeritus Dato\u2019 Dr. Ahmad Bin Haji Zainuddin also highlighted that the current tourism scenario alerted UCYP on its social responsibility. UCYP (formerly known as IKIP) has been established since almost thirty years ago and the feeling of belongingness and the love towards the Pahang state sealed its commitment.<\/p>\n

Apart from that, Profesor Emeritus Dato\u2019 Dr. Ahmad Haji Zainuddin, urged other \u00a0academic institutions as well as corporate sectors to invlove and support the growth of tourism agenda.<\/p>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n\n\t\t\t<\/div> \n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div> \n<\/div><\/div>\n\t\t
