Program Pembangunan Ketamadunan Orang Asli (PETAMA) is a part of UCYP initiatives that highlights its social approach. PETAMA aims to provide support for the indigenous people in forms of education and facilities. In conjunction with that, a seminar on the development of the indigenous community is held on 11th<\/sup> December 2018 at the Main Hall of Yayasan Pahang Complex.<\/p>\n

Among the guests present during the seminar is Yang Dihormat Orang Kaya Indera Pahlawan Dato\u2019 Sri Wan Haji Abdul Wahid bin Wan Hassan, Timbalan Yang Dipertua, Majlis Ugama Islam & Adat Resam Melayu Pahang (MUIP), Yang Berhormat Dato\u2019 Abdul Aziz bin Haji Mat Kiram, Pengerusi Jawatankuasa Pembangunan Luar Bandar dan Hal Ehwal Orang Asli Negeri Pahang. Yang Berhormat Senator Dato\u2019 Isa bin Ab. Hamid, Ahli Dewan Negara, and Yang Hormat Prof. Madya Dr. Abdul Ghafar Don, Penyelaras Program Siswazah, Pusat Kesejahteraan Insan & Komuniti, Fakulti Pengajian Islam, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM).<\/p>\n

YBhg Dr. Hafizan binti Mat Som, UCYP Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academics) is invited to the stage for an introductory speech during the seminar. YBhg Dr. Hafizan introduced the concepts of UCYP which includes the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) and Industry 4.0 to the audience. In her speech Dr. Hafizan said, \u201cHere at UCYP, we implement the adaptive concept into our programs pertaining to our relation with PETAMA\u201d, highlighting to the proposed mission of UCYP: An Adaptive University. Dr. Hafizan also talked about the upcoming projects of UCYP including the publication of proceeding books and journals parallel to the adaptive concept adapted by the university college.<\/p>\n

The seminar is then proceeded with a speech from Yang Dihormat Orang Kaya Indera Pahlawan Dato\u2019 Sri Wan Haji Abdul Wahid bin Wan Hassan. \u201cI would like to encourage the effort of this collaboration between UCYP and UKM in which it creates awareness of all parties on the importance of moral and educational development of the indigenous people\u201d, said Yang Dihormat Dato\u2019 Sri Wan Haji Abdul Wahid before initiating the event. It is crucial for the society to care for the well-beings of the indigenous people in Malaysia.<\/p>\n

The first speaker is Yang Berhormat Senator Dato\u2019 Isa bin Ab. Hamid who focuses on the indigenous society development in Pahang. Yang Berhormat Dato\u2019 Isa highlighted the stages of progress for the community and the factors contributing to their development. The Roles of Institutes of Higher Education and the Philanthropy of Da\u2019awah for building the Indigenous People\u2019s Welfare<\/em> is the topic that is next presented by Yang Hormat Prof. Madya Dr. Abdul Ghafar Don. A forum themed The Welfare Empowerment of Indigenous People<\/em> is led by Yang Hormat Dr. Azhar bin Jaafar @ Ramli, UCYP Deputy Vice Chancellor (Students, Community & Internationalisation). The panels are Yang Hormat Prof. Madya Dr. Bahari Belaton, Yang Hormat Prof. Dr. Badlihisham bin Mohd. Nasir and Yang Hormat Dr. Yew Wong Chin.<\/p>\n

The seminar is then proceeded with a parallel session of paper work presentations by the representatives. A total of eleven (11) papers are presented during the session. The seminar is put to a close by Yang Hormat Prof. Dr. Wan Kaman Mujani, Dean of Fakulti Pengajian Islam (UKM).<\/p>\n
