Majlis Penyampaian Sumbangan Zakat MUIP and Ramadhan Pack UCYP was held on 28th<\/sup> May 2019 at Auditorium, Maahad Tahfiz Negeri Pahang. Approximately 70 students from Program Pembangunan Tamadun Masyarakat Orang Asli (PETAMA) were given duit raya as well as baju raya as Aidilfitri contributions from Majlis Ugama Islam & Adat Resam Melayu Pahang (MUIP). The ceremony was officiated by Yang Dihormat Orang Kaya Indera Pahlawan Dato\u2019 Sri Wan Haji Abdul Wahid Bin Wan Hassan, Deputy President of MUIP. Also present were YH. Dato\u2019 Haji Zulkifle Bin Haji Ali Al-Hafiz, Chief Executice Officer, Maahad Tahfiz Negeri Pahang (MTNP), representing YH Dato\u2019 Mahmud Bin Hj. Mohd Nawawi, Chief Executive Officer, Pahang State Foundation. The Vice Chancellor of UCYP, YH Prof. Emeritus Dato\u2019 Dr Ahmad Bin Hj. Zainuddin was also present.<\/p>\n

\u201cAfter graduation, PETAMA students are actively involved in sharing and disseminating Islam to their community. Since 2010, Friday prayer sermons were delivered in Orang Asli dialects of different ethnics such as Semai, Temiar and Jakun. This kind of approach is adopted in order to assist better understanding among the Orang Asli community\u201d, said Dato\u2019 Sri Wan in his speech. \u201cMore mosques will be built at different districts in Pahang including Kuala Lipis, Pekan and Rompin\u201d, added him.<\/p>\n

In conjunction with that, Ramadhan Pack or Blessing Bag contributions were distributed during the event. Ramadhan Pack program was organized by KWIKI, Alumni Unit as well as Branding & Corporate Communication Department. The committee managed to collect some amount of contributions from UCYP staff and students. Thus, seventy (70) UCYP Asnaf staff were identified to receive the Ramadhan Packs than contained grocery items like flour, sugar, cooking oil, condensed milk, and Raya cookies. The Vice Chancellor of UCYP, Professor Emeritus Dato\u2019 Dr. Ahmad Bin Haji Zainuddin, was glad to give away those Ramadhan Packs as contributions from UCYP to those UCYP staff who are in needs.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Nurhanis Binti Abu Bakar, a student from Plantation Management Diploma Program, whom house damaged in a storm incident in Kampung Kasing, Kuala Rompin, early May, has received some amount of money and a hamper. In addition to that, the Alumni Department representing UCYP Alumni has also extended its donation in a form of kitchen groceries to her and her family.<\/p>\n

In the future, it is hoped that more programs like this can be conducted to reflect the awareness and concern towards those people in needs. Corporate companies and individuals outside there are encouraged to participate in this kind of noble program.<\/p>\n
